  • History and Background: From 1873 to 1877, the Dwasieden Castle and the associated 100-hectare park were built. From 1934, the castle was used by the Kriegsmarine as an officer’s casino. In 1948, the Dwasieden Castle was demolished. On the grounds of today’s castle ruins in the natural beech forest, various small barracks, smaller buildings, a larger workshop complex, and a few smaller above-ground bunkers remain on the former NVA site.

  • Observations/Impressions: Severe vandalism present. In one of the buildings, a forest was growing on the second floor. The roof had been destroyed by a fire previously.

  • What I Liked Most: The forest on the second floor.

  • What I Disliked: The very severe vandalism and the existing garbage.

  • Atmosphere: The buildings no longer had any atmosphere.

  • Mood: Cheerful.

  • Vandalism: Very severe.

  • Condition: Due to severe vandalism, the condition of the buildings is very poor.

  • Assessment: star-solid
